International Trade Institute Library Usage

 

A、   Introduction

        The International Trade Institute (here-in-after referred to as ITI) Library offers services at the Kuang Fu and Dong San    campuses. The collections of the Library system contain nearly 100,000 items including booksperiodicals audio-visualdiscs, and other non-print materials.

        The Library staff is available to assist any student or staff member to gain access to the information in the library.

 

BCatalogues

        The catalogues of the ITI library are in a variety of physical forms, including a Website catalogue, PC accessible catalogue. The most effective way of gaining access to the total holdings of ITI Libraries is through the Website catalogue system.

 

CHours of opening

                During academic terms the libraries are normally open as follows

 

Mon.~ Fri.

0830 a.m. -- 0930 p.m.

Sat.

0830 a.m. -- 1200 a.m.

0100 p.m. – 0430 p.m.

Sun.

0130 p.m. – 0430 p.m.

Note aDuring the term breaks the libraries are open 0830 a.m. to 1200 a.m.

and 0110p.m to 05:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

bOpening hours do not include public holidays which occur during semester periods.

 

DRules for general conduct

a     Readers in the Library shall behave in a manner which in the reasonable opinion of any librarian on duty is a proper manner in       the use of the Library.

  bNo person may eat or drink in the Library. No animals shall be brought into the

      Library.

c           Silence must be kept in the main reading areas and conversation restricted to the seminar rooms and other specified areas.

  dNo person may smoke in the Library.

 

EBorrowing responsibilities

     aA current library card is necessary for borrowing Library materials and must be

presented to the librarian on duty before materials may be borrowed. A

teacher wishing to apply for a library card should notify his/her departmental

assistant and furnish one passport-size photograph.

         bA borrower is responsible for the safe-keeping and return of the materials

   borrowed by him or her from the Library.

cAll items on loan must be returned on or before the last date stamped on the

date slip or, where appropriate, before the expiration of a recall notice.

eBorrowers are responsible for notifying the Library of any change of address.

 

FLoans

   Restrictions may be placed on the number of items which a user may have on

loan at any one time.

HFines for Late Returns

aWhen an item is overdue an overdue notice will be sent to the borrower.

         bIf an item is returned late a fine will be imposed at the rate of 5 N.T. dollars for each day that the item is overdue up to a maximum of N.T. 600.

 

I、  Loss of borrowing rights

        A user‘s borrowing rights may be withdrawn if one item or more is overdue. Once borrowing rights have been suspended they    will not be restored until the overdue item/items are returned and the accrued fines paid.

 

JPenalties for Library Material Lost or Damaged in the Care of the-borrower

   aLost Materials

                If an item appears to be lost, the loss must be reported to the lending services librarian If an item is not returned within five weeks of the date stamped on the date due slip the item is presumed lost. If after a reasonable search by both librarian and borrower the item cannot be found and proof of return cannot be shown the borrower shall be responsible for the replacement cost plus a processing charge(the price of item x3) to be paid within 14 days of notification.

   bDamaged Material

                If an item is returned from loan damaged the borrower shall be responsible for its replacement cost whether of the whole or part of the item together with a processing charge of N.T.100 up to a maximum of N.T.500 per item to be paid within 14 days of notification.
